The Turlock Police Department is investigating the murder of a 37-year-old Turlock man that happened Saturday night.
The victim has been identified by the police department as Falane Jones.
The police department has said the investigation into Jones’ murder is ongoing and as such very few details about the case have been released.
Around 9:44 p.m. Saturday police officers were called to the 300 block of W. Hawkeye Avenue for a report of a shooting. The first officers to arrive found Jones suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries that later claimed his life.
Police spokesperson Lt. Miguel Pacheco said the firearm used in the shooting has not been recovered.
There was no information on a suspect or suspects or a possible motive.
This marks the second homicide reported in Turlock this year. Eva Gallardo, 44, died from a stabbing in March.
