Turlock teenager shot by suspected drug user

A 16-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound after telling a man using drugs in front of a Turlock home to leave the area, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

The gunshot wound to the leg was not considered life-threatening and the teenager is expected to recover from the injury, according to the sheriff’s department.

The shooting was reported around 8:30 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of H Street in Turlock, between Jessica and South 1st streets.

The 16-year-old had been in front of a residence when he noticed a man using narcotics and told him to leave the area. Investigators said the man then pulled out a gun and shot the teenager.

The suspect fled the area prior to deputies arriving. He is a white male believed to be 20 to 30 years old. He was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build. He is bald with tattoos on his neck. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue shorts.
