WATERFORD — Two Waterford men were arrested this week in connection with a Feb. 2 shooting behind Pioneer Market on Yosemite Boulevard, authorities said.

Waterford Police Services said no injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred behind the store at 12138 Yosemite Blvd. With assistance from the Special Investigations Unit, investigators identified 18‑year‑old Diego Ochoa of Waterford as the primary suspect. He was located and arrested in Modesto on Feb. 4.

During a search warrant service at his residence, deputies identified a second suspect, Luis Ochoa, 21, also of Waterford. As deputies attempted to detain him, Luis fled in a vehicle, prompting a pursuit that was later discontinued due to safety concerns. He was later found and arrested in Turlock.

Deputies recovered four firearms during the investigation, including two confirmed stolen.

Diego Ochoa was arrested on suspicion of assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm and brandishing a firearm. Luis Ochoa was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property, obstruction and evading.

Waterford Police Services said the case remains under investigation.
