The Turlock Police Department has identified the man who was found with a fatal gunshot wound Sunday night in a Turlock neighborhood.

The victim was identified as Justin Anderson, 38, of Turlock. Anderson died from a gunshot wound to the upper body on Sunday.

The Turlock Police Department was dispatched to the 300 block of Angelus Street around 11:50 p.m. Sunday for calls reporting shots had been fired in the area.

Multiple officers arrived at the location and after searching the immediate area they could find no evidence that a shooting had just occurred, according to the police department. Officers found Anderson and immediately began CPR on him. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There is no suspect information available at this time.

The fatal shooting marked the eighth homicide to occur this year in Turlock. Five of the cases occurred in the jurisdiction of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and three, including the one from Sunday night, are being investigated by the Turlock Police Department.
