A Turlock woman is facing charges of driving under the influence and child endangerment for allegedly driving drunk with a 4-year-old child in the back seat.

Around 10:10 p.m. Monday the Turlock Police Department received a call of a suspicious person in the 2500 block of N. Berkeley Avenue.

The first officer to arrive found 43-year-old Andrea Davis sitting behind the wheel of a car parked in a driveway.

According the police report, officers “observed objective symptoms” that Davis was under the influence and had her perform a field sobriety test.

The officers determined she had been driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and that in doing so she put the 4-year-old boy in the vehicle in jeopardy.

Davis was arrested on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment. Child Protective Services were notified of the incident and the child was released to the care of a family member, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
