CSU Trustees to consider raising fees
Placeholder Image

The California State University Trustees on Friday will consider a proposal to raise student fees next year.

The proposal calls for a 5 percent undergraduate fee increase, approximately $204 per year for a full-time student. The increase would come on the heels of a 32 percent fee hike in fall 2009.

That 2009 fee increase was due to cuts in state funding to the CSU system. Friday’s proposal suggests trustees consider an additional 5 percent fee increase in November if this year’s state budget further cuts CSU funding.

Trustees will also review a 10 percent fee increase for educational doctorate candidates, the elimination of the annual cap on nonresident tuition, and a fee increase for Graduate Business professional programs.
