This week is Red Ribbon Week at schools throughout the nation, and Denair High School on Tuesday took part in activities geared toward the theme “Life is Your Journey: Travel Drug Free.” Thanks to the help of California Highway Patrol officers, students were able to try and walk in a straight line while wearing goggles that simulate impairment. A “Dunk Drugs” game also allowed students to try and dunk staff members into a water tank, and of course, the Denair High School Coyote mascot was on hand to encourage students to stay drug free. All events this week were coordinated by staff, as well as student members of the Protecting Health and Slamming Tobacco, or PHAST, Club.
