Turlock High’s 2025 Homecoming Queen candidates were announced at the homecoming dance on Saturday. THS’s Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime of our varsity football game on Friday.
A little about this year’s nominees:
- Jazlyn Barraza: Link Crew and HOSA; Jazlyn loves spending time with her family; Her senior escort will be Joshua Serna Ochoa.
— Betsy Bravo: HOSA, soccer and flag football; Betsy also loves cooking, hiking and playing soccer; Her senior escort will be Noah Tovar.
— Daisy Diaz: HOSA, HYLC and Sport Medicine II; Daisy also is in the CNA program. In her free time she loves making flowers out of pipe cleaners, babysitting, baking, going on runs/walks, shopping, working as a host, hanging out with friends and spending time with her family; Her senior escort will be Gavin Brandao.
— Dayanara Estrada: Soccer, flag football, HOSA, Link Crew, Kitchens for Change and ASL; Dayanara also does internship hours at Golden Bear and Covenant. She helps coach a young soccer girls team for Academica and is in Ajax Girls Academy competition soccer; Her senior escort will be Landyn Fitzgerald.
— Scarlet Hanson: NJROTC and swim; Scarlet also is in Boy Scouts of America and does community service at the VFW and Salvation Army. She is a classically trained pianist; Her senior escort will be Braxten Durkee.
— Gimena Licea: FFA; Gimena’s hobbies are riding horses at her grandpa’s ranch, shopping, traveling, and going to the gym. She also works at a law office part time assisting in complex civil litigation matters and prepping them for trial; Her senior escort will be Donovan Muirbrook.
— Shaniah McDermott: Cheerleader, Key Club, Black Student Union, Kitchens for Change and Link Crew Leader; Shaniah also has been involved with working at the Stanislaus County Fair, tutors kids at her church, helps with the Julien Elementary carnival and is a server at local crab feeds; Her senior escort will be Edwynn Brazil.
— Audrey Mensonides: Varsity volleyball team captain, Link Crew leader, Kitchens for Change and Honor Roll; Audrey also loves traveling and hanging out with friends. She does club volleyball and volunteers at Sierra Salem assisted living and is involved in the Modesto CRC youth group; Her senior escort will be Kaleb Guinn.
— Elle Nitschke: Drama Club, Link Crew, flag football, theater productions, Wellness Club and Ivy League Project; Elle also helps with her church childcare and is a personal assistant to the elderly; Her senior escort will be Corbin Fernandez.
— Angelina Tellez: FFA; Angelina loves to hang out with friends and family. During her free time she also does swim lessons for kids and works for the City of Turlock; Her senior escort will be Dylan Cacho.
