Day 1 of the annual Turlock High School FFA Plant Sale is in the books, with Day 2 set to take place today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at THS. Proceeds benefit the FFA's 32-student horticulture pathway for various projects and entry fees for the Stanislaus County Fair this summer. Herbs, vegetables, color plants, succulents and trees are available. There's even a raffle, with the winner being announced Monday. "Everything is grown and cared for by the students in the horticulture class," said advisor Tina Nunes. The Turlock FFA program has about 800 members, which makes it one of the largest chapters in the state.
