"A Pasture Poem" by Aileyn Renli Ecob

Fans of quilts and jazz music will find something to their liking at two upcoming events at the Carnegie Arts Center.

On Sunday the Carnegie will host a gallery talk on quilt art. The talk will feature artists from the Art Quilts exhibit at the Carnegie. Studio Art Quilts Associates members Geri Patterson-Kutras, Lin Schiffner, Cathie Hoover, and Jen Landau will discuss their work featured in Art Quilts: Works by Members of the Studio Art Quilt Associates and answer questions in the gallery.

The art talk will be at 2 p.m. and admission is free.

The following Wednesday will see the Carnegie open their doors to a jazz performance by the Stan State Jazz Ensemble and Combos. The bands will perform music from the Spring 2018 Jazz Arranging class.  Music will include works by senior Joey Archie (Trumpet), junior Brenden Barber (Drums), and junior Josh Woodfolk (Tenor Sax).

The show is set for 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the jazz concert are $10 general admission and $5 for Carnegie members and students and will be available at the door.
