Bilingual poll workers needed
election generic vote

The Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters office is seeking bilingual registered voters to volunteer at the polls on June 5.

The State of California now requires Stanislaus County to provide language assistance in five languages. Bilingual poll workers fluent in English and Spanish, Khmer, Punjabi or Assyrian/Syriac are needed. Volunteers must be 18 or older and registered California voters.

Poll Workers play an important role and perform a wide range of duties including opening the polls, setting up voting equipment, issuing official ballots and assisting voters. Poll Workers will receive a $95 stipend, which includes serving on Election Day from approximately 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and a mandatory two-hour training class.

The training class provides an overview of the Election Day process and hands-on equipment instruction. Classes are offered in Modesto, Riverbank, Salida and Turlock from May 15 - May 26. For applications to volunteer and to view the schedule for training classes, visit: www.stanvote.com or pollworker@stancounty.com or contact the Stanislaus County Poll Worker Coordinator at (209) 525-5233.

More information regarding the Statewide Direct Primary Election is available on the Stanislaus Registrar of Voters website at stanvote.com.
