MAY IS WATER AWARENESS MONTH
Every year, the City of Turlock celebrates Water Awareness Month to encourage citizens’ appreciation of the value of our water and to educate consumers on efficient water use and conservation practices.
DRINKING WATER WEEK
In conjunction with Water Awareness Month, the City of Turlock celebrates the American Water Works Association’s “Drinking Water Week” to raise public awareness about the importance of drinking water and conservation.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE MOBILE COLLECTION EVENT
Four days per year Stanislaus County has a free mobile Hazardous Household Waste Disposal unit in Turlock which accepts hazardous household waste. The Household Hazardous Waste event will be held 8 a.m. to noon May 11 and 12 at the City of Turlock’s Water Quality Control facility located at 901 S. Walnut Rd. TAKE PRIDE IN TURLOCK FREE DISPOSAL DAY
The Take Pride in Turlock program is a citywide free disposal program that will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1100 S. Walnut Rd. Take Pride in Turlock occurs once a year to encourage citizens to clean up their property and their community. To take advantage of this FREE trash disposal day opportunity, you must provide your April City of Turlock utility bill (TID, PG&E, or phone bills DO NOT qualify) and a picture ID with a Turlock address. PUBLIC WORKS WEEK
The City of Turlock, in conjunction with the American Public Works Association, celebrates National Public Works Week each year during the third week of May. The week serves to recognize those who work in professions that provide and maintain the vital infrastructure and services collectively known as public works. A reception and equipment display will be held 5 p.m. May 21 in front of City Hall (prior to the City Council meeting).

Landscape watering schedule: Effective March 1 through Oct. 31, even numbered homes may water on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and odd numbered homes may water Wednesdays and Sundays. Allowed watering times are before 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m.
