Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen (R-Modesto) will serve as vice chair of the Assembly’s Education and Agricultural committees, and will also serve on the Insurance, Higher Education, and Accountability and Administrative Review committees. 

“Education and agriculture are two of the three largest contributors to our state’s economy and employment status,” said Olsen. “As vice chair of these committees, I plan to work on policies that will boost our economy and promote job growth, encourage workforce preparation and ensure that our students are provided with top quality educational opportunities.”

“With her background in higher education and as a parent, Kristin Olsen will be a forceful advocate for parents, students and taxpayers as the new vice chair of the Assembly Education Committee. Kristin also understands that agriculture is important not only to feed our people, but also to fuel our state’s economy, and will work hard as vice chair of the Assembly Agriculture Committee to open up new markets for California agriculture,” said Assembly Republican Leader Connie Conway, of Tulare.

Assembly member Olsen, R-Modesto, is the Rural Caucus Chair and Assembly Chief Republican Whip. She represents the 12th Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes the communities of Escalon, Hughson, Lathrop, Lockeford, Manteca, Modesto, Oakdale, Oakhurst, Riverbank, Turlock and Waterford.
