Senior Center Open House: The Turlock Senior Center will host an open house event from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at 1191 Cahill Ave. There will be refreshments and raffles. Visitors can see what activities the center offers throughout the week for those aged 50 and older.
Friday Night Jazz: The community is invited to come for a sample of what’s to come before the Stan State Jazz Fest from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Carnegie Arts Center, 250 N. Broadway, Turlock. This evening of music will feature students from the Stan State Jazz Studies Program. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and CAC members.
Life on Our Planet Live: From the Emmy Award-winning team behind Netflix’s Our Planet series, comes a new natural history speaker series event: “Life On Our Planet Live” with host Dan Tapster. Pollinator Festival: The Modesto Pollinator Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the La Loma Native Garden, 2000 Encina Ave., Modesto. This free, family event will feature a beehive demonstration, educational games, native wildflower seed giveaway and a children’s pollinator costume parade at 10:30 a.m.
In Their Shoes: The HAVEN center will host its annual fundraiser event, In Their Shoes, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in downtown Modesto. This is a walk to support survivors of sexual assault. To register to walk, visit havenstan.org/intheirshoes.
