Santa Con: The 2024 Modesto Santa Con pub crawl will be held starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at Commonwealth, 1022 11th St. in downtown Modesto. The Santa Con crawl includes eight bars in downtown Modesto. There will be an all Santas photo in the plaza at 8 p.m. This is a 21 years and over event only. Movie Night: The Carnegie Arts Center will host a Friday the 13th movie night with a free screening of “Krampus” at 7 p.m. Friday. The holiday horror movie is perfect for a spooky Friday the 13th in December. This movie is for ages 18 and over. The Carnegie is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock. Spirit of Giving

Spirit of Giving: The Modesto Spirit of Giving 5K will be held on Saturday in downtown Modesto. Event to benefit City of Modesto recreation scholarships and the Modesto Gospel Mission. Race begins at 8:30 a.m. To register, visit: https://modestospiritofgiving.org/register/

The Ill LIST: The ILL LIST, the highly anticipated poetry slam competition, will return to The State Theatre in downtown Modesto at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. City Lights, Country Nights: Westside Ministries’ Center for Urban Performance and Service will present “ City Lights, Country Nights!” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at the Turlock Community Theatre. This full length musical comedy features a cast of over 100 children and youth as they dance their way from New York City to the small town of Pickle Fork, West Virginia. Tickets are $10 per person. A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
