Artist reception: A free public reception for the regional artists featured in the Carnegie Arts Center exhibition “Valley Focus” will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. For more than 10 years, the Carnegie has displayed the work of regional artists and explored their relationship to their communities. The Carnegie is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock.

MoSt Poetry:  The Modesto-Stanislaus Poetry Center will host a Poetry on Saturday event from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Carnegie Arts Center, 250 N. Broadway, Turlock. Featured will be Bay Area poets Luisa Giulianetti and Sarah Kobrinsky. An Open Mic time will follow the featured poets. This event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be provided.

Assyrian Comedy Show: The Turlock Community Theatre will welcome the Assyrian Comedy Show, featuring Vincent Oshana and Paul Elia, at 7 p.m. Saturday.
