Abstraction at Work
The Carnegie Arts Center will host an abstract art themed event from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

Family Friday: The Carnegie Arts Center will host an abstract art themed event from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Participants can take inspiration from the arts center’s current Lobby Gallery exhibition, “On the Edge: Abstraction at Work” and try different ways to create their own abstract masterpieces. This event is free and open to the public. The Carnegie is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock.

Junktique: The Stanislaus County Junktique will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, 900 N. Broadway, Turlock. There will be antiques, crafts and artisans goods for sale, along with a free kids zone and photos with the Easter Bunny.

Brian Regan: Comedian Brian Regan will bring his observational, sarcastic and self-deprecating humor to the Gallo Center for the Arts with a show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. For tickets, visit galloarts.org.

Russ Taff and Steve Taylor: Multiple Grammy and Dove Award-winners Russ Taff and Steve Taylor will appear in one electrifying night together on the The Almost Farewell Tour at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The State Theatre in downtown Modesto. For tickets, visit thestate.org.

Train Dreams: The film “Train Dreams” — nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Original Song, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Cinematography — will be shown at The State Theatre in downtown Modesto at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday, 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday.
