Family Friday: Docents from the Great Valley Museum will be at the Carnegie Arts Center from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday for a free event where participants can learn all about why plants are so important to the planet and then dissect real flowers. The Carnegie is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock.

Film Finale: The Modesto 48 Hour Film Competition Grand Finale Screening will start at 7 p.m. Friday at The State Theatre, 1307 J St., Modesto. Inter-Tribal Powwow: Modesto Junior College will host an Inter-Tribal Powwow from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday in the East Campus Quad, 435 College Ave. This event will include dancing, singing, drumming, traditional arts and crafts, food and friendship - all centered on unity and cultural pride.
