Turlock will get into the holiday spirit with the annual Festival of Lights starting at 5 p.m. Friday.

Festival of Lights: Turlock will get into the holiday spirit with the annual Festival of Lights starting at 5 p.m. Friday. This event is the city’s official tree lighting ceremony, and will feature almost 200 vendors, live entertainment and a drone show. The official tree lighting will happen at 6:30 p.m. in Central Park. A drone show is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. The best viewing area for the show is on Center Street between Main Street and Olive Avenue.

A Christmas Carol: Modesto Performing Arts will present Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” with shows at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gallo Center for the Arts. For tickets, visit galloarts.org or call 209-338-2100.

Pageo Holiday Market: Pageo Lavender Farm will host its annual Holiday Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event includes live music, food trucks and unique handmade gifts from local artisans. The farm is located at 11573 Golf Link Rd., Turlock.

Winter Festival: The McHenry Mansion will host its Winter Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The mansion will be decorated for the holiday and there will be crafts, caroling, actors, tours and horse-drawn carriage rides. The McHenry Mansion is located at 924 15th St., Modesto.

We Own the Laughs: One of the nation’s premier comedy entertainment companies returns to Modesto with the wildest group of performers currently in stand-up comedy as part of We Own The Laughs: Modesto at 8 p.m. Saturday inside The State Theatre. For tickets, visit thestate.org.
