The Turlock-Modesto Branch of the American Association of University Women hosted its annual Wine Social on Nov. 8 at the Carnegie Art Center. The event, with raffles, silent and live auctions, netted $6,800 according to organizers Diane Wold and Gity Miller.  Co-Presidents Mary Giventer and Carol Anderson stated that proceeds from the event will go to scholarships for local high school seniors and to 7th grade girls for a math-science camp (Tech Trek).

Almost 200 tickets were sold, 80 items were donated by local merchants and individuals including live orchids, art pieces and time in three vacation homes.  Wold and Miller noted that 50 attendees took advantage of the opportunity to view the Degas exhibition, included at no extra charge by the Carnegie Center.
