Tractor Supply Co. is hosting their annual Pet Appreciation Week through Sunday, complete with pet adoptions, demonstrations on pet nutrition, and drawings for gift cards and giveaways while supplies last.

The Turlock location will have activities for families and their pets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with community partners such as the Turlock City Animal Shelter, Save-A-Spot Dalmatian, Turlock High FFA Petting Zoo and a local Boy Scout group selling popcorn.

“By partnering with our great local nonprofits, we're able to match families with great pets and help those families start pet ownership on the right foot — or paw,” said Julie Schmidt, manager of Turlock Tractor Supply store.

Adoption events raise awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering pets and provide information on proper pet care and nutrition.

All Pet Appreciation Week events are open to the public—and pets—and will take place at Tractor Supply at 201 N. Walnut Road in Turlock.

“Tractor Supply likes to be active in the community,” said Desiree Rubalcava, assistant Turlock store manager. “It’s great because it encourages customers to check out these cool events and get involved.”

Several activities will take place during the main event, including pet adoption, pet photos and a petting zoo.

“There’s a vast number of healthy dogs and cats just waiting to be adopted,” said Schmidt. “Pet Appreciation Week is our chance to help these pets find homes.”
