The Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock installed new officers on Saturday. Among them was club president Raymond George, who was re-elected to serve another term. The Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock holds elections to decide their leadership every year. Over 400 members voted in this year’s officers, which took place on Jan. 14.

“My mission is to serve my community and work diligently with the new executive board to bring and reinforce creditability and progress and to make this great organization a pride for every Assyrian.
Our work for the coming two years is to continue in building harmony and financial stability and to have Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock a landmark in this region,” George said.

The Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock recently celebrated its 65th anniversary. Assyrians have had a presence in the Turlock community for 100 years, and also celebrated that centennial in October.
