Local choirs are joining forces once again in hopes of raising another ton of food and pile of toys for the Salvation Army Turlock Corps and community food banks.

The 3rd annual Better Together concert, hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and featuring choir members from multiple Turlock groups, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the church, located at 4300 Geer Rd. in Turlock.

The Better Together benefit concert featuring performances from members of the Turlock Community Gospel Choir, Golden Valley Chorus, Turlock High School Concert Choir, Voice of the Pride (Pitman High School), Waterford High School Choir, Hickman Honor Choir, Sound Investment (Hughson High School) and The Turlock Stake Choir.

“It is a really fun night and choirs enjoy doing it,” said Michelle Belloli, communications director for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Turlock.

Community members are admitted into the event by bringing cans or bags of non-perishable items or children’s toys, especially toys for those over the age of 10. At the inaugural concert, over 1.5 tons of food was donated, shattering the goal of one ton.
