Boot scootin' new year

A group of dancers started the new year with a little boot scootin' at the Turlock Senior Center on Tuesday. The line dancing class, led by Nancy Franklin, is offered through the City of Turlock Recreation Department. The 8-week intermediate class started Tuesday, but others are welcome to join next week from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. A beginning line dancing class will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting next Tuesday. A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
