The Turlock Fire Department was out Saturday afternoon for the annual Fill the Boot drive. The firefighters were able to raise about $14,000 that they will use to help support community organizations and families such as Turlock Together, Turlock Unified School District, Turlock Recreation Department and Random Acts of Kindness program.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
