Truffles to chocolate dipped apples, toffee to chocolate covered almonds, the namesake of the Oakdale Chocolate Festival is prominently on display along Chocolate Avenue.

It’s a traditional stop for chocolate lovers who make the trek to Oakdale each year to enjoy the family-friendly festival, with vendors serving up samples of their delectable treats. Visitors are sure to find something to purchase to take home.

The festival highlights the sweet concoction in its many forms, but that’s not all there is to enjoy. A kids area with rides, entertainment on three different stages, the Saturday morning 5k and one mile fun run, the Classic Car show and all day activities like the Delta Gold Diggers gold panning, pony rides, petting zoo, water games and water ballerz and a new trampoline bungee jump add to the fun.

Downtown Oakdale welcomes in thousands of visitors for the two days of festivities, with activities centered around the Highway 108-120 intersection at Yosemite Avenue, with several entry gates available and some street closures.

Admission is $4 for pre-purchased tickets; at the gate the fee is $6 for adults, $5 for senior and children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult. Bring a can of food and receive $1 off admission.

Arts and crafts, specialty merchandise and service, food and beverage booths, along with the music, cars, rides, runs and games, make for a full weekend of fun.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
