Turlock Mayor Amy Bublak was a two-time Northern California Athletic Conference champion in the javelin when she was a student at Stanislaus State and has recently reignited her competitive spirit for the U.S. Police & Fire Championship Games (Photo contributed).
Turlock Mayor Amy Bublak dusted off her throwing skills after almost 30 years in 2022 and showed that she still has what it takes to finish first when she took home gold medals in both the javelin and shot-put events at the U.S. Police & Fire Championships.

Every Memorial Day, locals put on their red, white and blue attire, maybe don a red poppy in remembrance of the fallen, and make their way to Turlock Memorial Park cemetery.
