Cars and Coffee returns to Turlock
WISG cars and coffee

The engines will be purring and the java will be pouring when Winton-Ireland, Strom and Green Insurance Agency host the 7th Annual Cars and Coffee on Oct. 26.

From 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. the parking lot at WIS&G will be turned into a car enthusiasts’ paradise, as more than 100 classic, hotrod and exotic vehicles converge upon the area.

Cars and Coffee are events held around the world that are designed to bring together collectors, hobbyists and those that admire the craftmanship and dream of owning their own special automobile.

WIS&G was approached by Hagerty Collector Car Insurance (who helps sponsor the event) about hosting a Cars and Coffee event seven years ago because they had numerous car collectors insuring their automobiles through the company.

The idea delighted WIS&G Insurance Broker Jeremy Benjamin, who himself is a car enthusiast and had 20 automobiles to his name by the time he was 26.  He agreed to spearhead the project.

“I thought it was a great idea and was inspired to make it a fun event for everyone,” Benjamin said.

For this year’s show, Benjamin is expecting about 110 different vehicles.

“We will have a mixed genre of cars,” Benjamin said. “There will be early Model Ts to recent exotic models. We’ll have a good blend. Each year we have featured cars parked out on the lawn and this year it will be Porsches.”

And while the automobiles are certainly the stars of the show, Benjamin said the real thrill is watching all the collectors meet and share their stories.

“The cars are the icebreaker,” Benjamin said. “The real fun is the people behind the cars and their stories. This is an agency event in that we are the cement that brings all these people together. We are fortunate to have their trust and without our clients we wouldn’t be as successful with this event as we have been.”

The event will be at 627 E. Canal Dr. in Turlock. It is free and open to spectators. For more information or to register a vehicle visit www.wisgcarsandcoffee.com.
