The community of Hilmar came together on Saturday to celebrate its most famous agriculture commodity at the annual Dairy Festival. The festivities began at 5 p.m. and ended shortly before 10 p.m. and included various vendors offering everything from reflective postal numbers, to pillow case dresses, and fair food items.  Entertainment included a "mooing" contest and the Milk Man and Milk Maid competition.  Winners of the contests were provided with gift certificates and trophies.

As the evening closed in Boy Scout Troop 911 performed a  flag retirement ceremony and after a slide show highlighting the Hilmar community was displayed on a make shift screen attached to the football goal post.  The event concluded with a fireworks show.
