A little slice of Hollywood is coming to Turlock Friday with the premiere of “Christian Mingle.”

The red carpet is being unfurled as actor, writer and director Corbin Bernsen and actress Lacey Chabert come to town for the premiere of the movie that was filmed in part at several Turlock locations. The two will join executive producer Matt Swanson and producer Michael Everett and the scores of other individuals who helped or participated in the making of the faith-based romantic comedy.

“Christian Mingle: The Movie is about a young, modern, single woman. She’s trying to achieve it all — a successful career, amazing friends and finding Mr. Right,” said Bernsen. “She stumbles into the world of online dating looking for an instant ‘soul mate solution,’ but ultimately ends up taking a personal journey transforming her life.”

Home Theater Films, Bernsen’s production company, strives to make movies that strengthen the faith of families and communities.

“Our goal at Home Theater Films is to inspire and entertain our audience,” Bernsen continued. “We want to make great movies that everyone can enjoy and elevate them with contemporary, relatable characters that naturally demonstrate their faith in real world situations.”

Chabert took on the starring role of Gwyneth. Chabert first tasted fame on the hit television series “Party of Five” and later as Gretchen Wieners in the hit movie “Mean Girls.”

The cast includes Jonathan Patrick Moore (“L.A. Complex,” “William and Kate”), Stephen Tobolowsky (“Groundhog Day”), John O’Hurley (“Seinfeld,” “All My Children), and Morgan Fairchild (“Falcon Crest,” “Friends,” “Holy Man.”).

The red carpet event is set for 6 p.m. Friday with the screening at 7 p.m.  The premiere is a sold-out event, but individuals wanting to catch a showing of the film can see it at 12:50 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 10:15 p.m. at the Regal Turlock Stadium. The movie also is showing at the Brenden theater in Modesto.
