There will be a little more “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” in Turlock this summer as Trace Adkins is set to perform at the Stanislaus County Fair.

The country singer will take the Bud Light Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. July 16 at the Stanislaus County Fair.

 “Trace Adkins will bring an amazing country sound to the Fair,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “This is something you’re definitely not going to want to miss.”

Adkins’ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts. The three-time Grammy-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author and spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised more than $1.5 million as the winner of NBC’s “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.” Adkins has played a tough-as-nails biker in “The Lincoln Lawyer” (starring Matthew McConaughey), a desperate father in “Deepwater Horizon” (starring Mark Wahlberg), and a wise oracle of a tattoo artist in the family-friendly film “Moms’ Night Out” (starring Patricia Heaton, Sean Astin, and Sarah Drew).

In recent years, he has performed for U.S. service men and women across 11 USO tours, with his 12th just this past spring. In his 2007 autobiography, “A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck,” he recounted his rise to fame, brushes with death, and battles with personal demons.

The 2018 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 13 for a 10-day run. All concerts are free with Fair admission.
