The Turlock chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently saluted several local students by presenting Good Citizenship certificates and medals to 10 8th grade graduates.

Each school chose students who excelled in five categories: Honor, Service, Courage, Leadership, and Patriotism.

The Turlock DAR recently celebrated its sixth anniversary. Its membership is based on one’s lineage to an ancestor who aided in the American Revolution. Its mission is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism as it focuses on preserving the past, enhancing the present and investing in the future. The local chapter regent is Arleen Richards.
