History of Business:

Whitney Shelhamer’s love for jewelry design spans back to her childhood.

“I have always loved working with my hands and I can remember making hemp bracelets and shell necklaces as a little girl,” said Shelhamer. “In more recent years, I began making more complex pieces for friends and it spiraled into a full-time career for me.”

Now as a full-time jewelry designer, Shelhamer describes herself as an artist, not a sales person, and notes that her first love will always revolve around the creative aspect that goes into each piece of jewelry.

“It’s gratifying and validating when someone appreciates your art and wants it as their own,” said Shelhamer. “I never want my work to evolve into something that takes my attention away from the part of it that I love the most: the tool and torch in hand.”

With acute attention to detail, high-end artistry and craftsmanship, Shelhamer works diligently in her studio in Half Moon Bay to create the perfect combination of unique and beautiful jewelry, including artisan engagement rings, wedding bands, custom-stamped pieces and layering adornments.

“I want those that wear my pieces to know they are wearing something special, something of real value, something artistically unique and something carefully designed and constructed from start to finish,” said Shelhamer. “The collections are created with a deliberate cohesiveness and fluidity, every piece capable of being a stand-alone item, or a beautiful layer within jewelry collective.”
