California-based dd’s Discounts is coming to Turlock with a grand opening on Saturday. 

As part of the grand opening ceremony and in support of the local community, the new dd’s Discounts store is donating $2,500 to the Friends of the Turlock Public Library.

 “The money is much appreciated and it will be put to good use.  We, as a group, provide funds for programming for the library — primarily for children but also for young adult and adult programs as well,” said Jackie Oyler, President of Friends of the Turlock Public Library. “So the generous donation from dd's Discounts will be well spent.”  

The store sells brand apparel, accessories, footwear and home fashions at typically lower prices than department stores.

dd’s Discounts is located in the Turlock Town Center, home to many neighboring businesses that are happy to welcome a new anchor store to the shopping center and hope it will draw in more shoppers.

“Any good anchor store like dd’s is a plus for this shopping center; it’s exactly what we needed,” said Carlos Garcia, owner of Pizza Guys. “It will generate traffic and bring more customers for better business, and we are so excited they are opening.”

Customers may enter for a chance to win one of five $100 gift cards or one of 10 $50 gift cards to dd’s Discounts from the day of the grand opening until Oct. 4.

The store is located at 562 N. Golden State Blvd and is open 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 10 a.m.to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
