A disabled vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks was hit by a train Saturday night, but fortunately there were no injuries reported from the incident.

The vehicle became disabled on the tracks at Monte Vista Avenue and Golden State Boulevard around 7 p.m. Saturday. Both the Turlock Fire and Police departments responded to the scene. Union Pacific was informed of the car on the tracks, but the train was already approaching the area and was not able to stop in time.

The occupants had all exited the car before it was struck by the train.

The incident left the train blocking the intersections at Monte Vista Avenue and Tuolumne Road for more than two hours.
