Dust Bowl Brewing Company in Turlock will host a unique food event — a Spent Grain Breadmaking Class led by Grainbakers founder Caitlin Jewell — on June 3.

In this two-hour class, guests will tour the brewery, roll up their sleeves, and make whole-grain bread using fresh spent grain from Dust Bowl’s brewing process — all while enjoying great beer and great company. Every attendee leaves with their own handmade dough, full baking instructions, and a renewed connection to where their food (and beer!) comes from.

“We’re beyond excited to bring Grainbakers to Dust Bowl in Turlock,” said Jewell. “This is exactly the kind of community-focused brewery we love working with — and this class is a chance to connect in a really meaningful, joyful way.”

With over 4,000 participants across more than 50 breweries, Jewell’s national tour celebrates the intersection of community, craft beer, and hands-on creativity — all through the humble loaf of bread.

Grainbakers began when Jewell, a former brewery owner in Boston, started teaching breadmaking with her own spent grain. Now based in the Bay Area, her woman-owned business has become a national tour dedicated to bringing educational, high-touch entertainment to small brewery taprooms nationwide, especially on quieter weeknights. This is a limited-ticket event, and classes tend to sell out. Tickets for the June 3 Dust Bowl class are available now at grainbakers.com.
