The Stanislaus County Fair is hoping to inspire young women once again this year with the empowHER Lounge.

The empowHER Lounge is a place of resource that will help cultivate empowerment and confidence in girls 16 and older.

“The empowHER Lounge is a great source for young women in our community to be exposed to various life topics that may seem basic but can, in fact, determine what type of person they grow up to be,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “This lounge will make them aware of the importance of their online image, feeling confident, speaking up when necessary and finding one’s cause, among many other subjects.”

Alkhas created the lounge with the mentality of teaching young women how to support and nurture one another instead of subduing to the female norm of consistently competing and comparing. Setting such a tone will undeniably yield successful leaders of the future. Through informative and interactive workshops, the empowHER Lounge will be able to support this goal.
