History of Business: When Lisa Pimentel enrolled her daughter in local dance classes 10 years ago she heard the complaints of other mothers who found it burdensome to make their way to Modesto for their daughters’ dance items. Without a shop locally at which to find the shoes, leotards, and accessories necessary for dance classes and recitals, Pimentel chose to remedy the inconvenience by establishing a dance shop in Turlock and Encore Dance Apparel was born.

“After I realized there was a need I did the market research and convinced my husband,” joked Pimentel.

This December marks the business’ eighth year in business and while Pimentel’s daughter no longer taps her toes in local studios, Pimentel is still involved in the dance community and plays an integral role in many dancers’ development.

With seven different types of dance shoes as well as tutus, leotards, skirts, tights, makeup, hair accessories, colorful gym bags and more, Encore Dance Apparel offers a variety of items for dancers of all ages. With clients hailing from Ripon to Los Banos, Encore Dance Apparel Encore Dance Apparel has become a go-to spot for all things dance.

“I really wanted it to be a family-friendly atmosphere where moms can come with their strollers and their kids and get what they need,” said Pimentel. “It has really filled a need.”
