The weekend forecast calls for sunshine and high temperatures approaching 70 degrees.

Sounds like perfect weather to crank up the Turlock Certified Farmers Market.

“I had people calling me all day last Saturday asking me if the Farmers Market was going to be open,” said director Nick Schuller. “I had to tell them that it wouldn’t be open until this weekend, even though we all wanted it to be open last week.”

On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the streets of downtown Turlock will be blocked off for another market season. Old favorites, such as Way of Life Farms (eggs), May Day Nursery (succulents and indoor plants), Hummus Heaven, Ledesma Family Farms (vegetables), Jars of Delicious (jelly), Flourish Bakery (sourdough bread, cookies), and Goselog Filipino Food Truck will return for another season.

Returning after a brief hiatus from the TCFM will be the  Bloomingcamp Ranch Bake Shop, which sells coffee and baked goods. New to the market this year, selling sweets, will be Artisan Kitchen, and M&M Sweet Treats ’n’ More (M&M won’t be there for the opening week).

Some teenage entrepreneurs will be featured this season.

Nayelli Moreno, who operates Nayelli’s Cute Creations, is back for another season selling her crocheted crafts. Aria Spencer, who has played the harp during past markets, operates Aria’s Crochet Corner and will alternate weekends with Moreno, who will be downtown for opening weekend.

Meanwhile, Liam Cardoza will sell items created from his 3-D printer.

Kids who would like to take part in the market can do so without paying the $35 stall fee.

“Nayelli didn’t pay a stall fee for the first year,” said Schuller. “But she’s come to the market so much that’s she’s like a regular vendor now. The others are just getting their feet wet, so we don’t charge them.”

The Turlock Pride, Turlock Hornets and Turlock Bulldogs youth football teams all will be coming to the market to promote their programs and sign up players.

Applications for the TCMA Scholarship are being accepted.

“Interested seniors who are pursuing careers that are at least ag adjacent can submit applications,” said Schuller. “It’s open to seniors at Turlock, Pitman, Turlock Christian and Denair high schools."

Visit turlockmarket.org or stop by the TCMA tent on the corner of Main and Thor streets for more information.

The Turlock Mom’s Club will host a reading tent on the second Saturday of each month, while The Turlock Garden Club will hold its annual children’s planting activity on May 30.

TCFM’s Mother’s Day craft will be on May 9 and the Father’s Day craft on June 20.

The market will run through Dec. 19, and from May to September the market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
