Firefighters seek donations in 'Fill the Boot' campaign

Turlock Firefighters Local 2434 will be hosting its annual Fill the Boot fundraiser  to benefit the Random Acts of Kindness  program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the intersections surrounding  Monte Vista Crossings. Firefighters will be asking passersby to 'fill their boot' with donations for the Random Acts of Kindness program. Funds donated go to support numerous community programs, such as the annual Turlock Christmas Parade and upgrading equipment for children in Turlock Unified School District. Every dollar donated goes directly back into the Turlock community.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
