A fire of undetermined origin left a Turlock man and his two dogs displaced from their home.

The fire was reported around 11 a.m. Wednesday by a neighbor in the 3100 block of Bridgeport Court.

When Turlock Fire Department crews arrived they found the garage of the residence completely in flames and spreading to a cargo trailer parked in the driveway.

Fire fighters were able to contain the fire to the garage and the front porch, but smoke and water caused considerable damage to the living area. The fire department estimated the dollar loss at $75,000.

The fire department said the tenant’s two dogs were in the garage when the fire ignited, but were able to escape unharmed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
