Free admission to Don Pedro for military, veterans

In honor of Veteran’s Day, the Don Pedro Recreation Agency will grant active military personnel and veterans no-cost admission – and camping – between Nov. 7-14.

Don Pedro Lake will be completely free to access for military men and women and their accompanying families for the seven day period. The offer includes hook-up and tent camping, and all day use at the lake including vehicle and boat admission.

Camping reservations are not required, but can be made by calling 852-2396 ext. 3.

The shelves at Turlock’s Rite Aid drugstore on Monte Vista Avenue are slowly being emptied and signs posted on the store’s popular Thrifty counter state “No More Ice-Cream” with a cartoon cone sporting a frowny face. An employee of the local drugstore on Thursday confirmed to curious customers that the store will be closing its doors, but he didn’t know exactly when.
