History of business:
Glam Boutique opened its doors in Turlock just over three months ago, but the women’s clothing shop is already making a name for itself in town.
“Everybody’s really happy we’re here,” store owner Aiden Mendoza said. “A lot of the reviews that we’ve gotten so far have said that something like this was needed in Turlock.”
Glam Boutique isn’t just a store where women can find a perfect outfit – Mendoza helps customers decide what dress, skirt or top will best fit their upcoming event, and can also provide them with hairstyling and makeup services to compliment whichever look they choose.
“This is the place to come if you want to be prepared for a night out,” Mendoza said. “Girls can find an outfit, get their hair and makeup done, then walk out of here ready to begin a fun night.”
As a licensed cosmetologist, Mendoza wanted a way to combine her love for the beauty world with her passion for the fashion industry, she said. Glam Boutique does just that, giving customers the opportunity to piece together a unique look where each individual piece compliments the other.
“I love the fashion industry – it’s connected with the beauty industry, and that’s what I studied,” Mendoza said.
Mendoza helps her customers through one-on-one consultations, if desired, where she aids shoppers in sifting through racks of clothing that include everything from formal evening wear to everyday outfits, all ranging from $20 to $80.
Once an outfit is picked, customers then have the option of discussing a hairstyle and makeup look with Mendoza. Glam Boutique uses nothing but high-quality products, she said, including foundation that can be matched perfectly to a clients’ skin tone.
No matter what look a customer ends up rocking, one thing is most important to Mendoza: that shoppers not only look their best but feel their best.
“I like to see what they’re getting into for the night, whether it’s a fancy dinner or a girls’ night out, and help them based on that,” Mendoza said. “As far as the whole concept of the outfit going with the makeup, it’s about what they want and what makes them feel pretty, and then we try to achieve that.”
