Those brave enough to take the opportunity have a chance to learn something about Turlock’s spooky side just in time for Halloween.

The Turlock Historical Society is offering a Ghost Walk tour of downtown Turlock starting at 9 p.m. on Oct. 30.

The Ghost Walk tour will start at the Turlock Historical Society Museum and proceed to five downtown locations with haunted and mysterious stories of old. It will be up to the participants to decide the validity of each scary tale. A docent from the museum will lead the tour and story tellers will relate the tales at each location.

The locations for the Ghost Walk tour are not being disclosed but there have been plenty of rumors of paranormal happenings in downtown Turlock. Perhaps one of the more well known is the Sierra Building at 331 E. Main Street. The site used to be the home of the Lillian Collins Hospital and in 2008 was visited by the American Paranormal Investigations group. The ghost hunters based out of Sacramento reported finding several unexplained occurrences at the site, including an audio recording of a ghostly lullaby sung in French.

Tickets are $20 and Wednesday is the last day to purchase them. Tickets can be purchased at the museum at 108 S. Center St.; Main Street Antiques at 208 E. Main St.; Paul’s Paint Store at 216 N. 1st St.; or Geiger’s Jewelers at 340 E. Main St.
