In honor of Veterans Day, local residents took time to remember those who have served the country.

Denair Middle School hosted its 5th Veterans Day Celebration on Friday. The event encouraged all veterans to come together in order to properly honor each branch of the military. The Stanislaus Military Academy’s Color Guard also performed for the event. Denair’s 8th grade students gave a presentation about their interviews with veterans, and stated what quotes struck them the most.

Also on Friday, Paramount Senior Living hosting several activities for seniors with a background in military service. The Pitman High Key Club had provided star cookies to the seniors, while the Hilmar Community Band contributed a tribute concert for the veterans, primarily a melody of the armed forces.

The American Legion Auxiliary also supplied their services by handing out poppy pins, a symbol of sacrifice, and small American flags for all to wear."
