HOPE OF AMERICA
Madison-King
Madison King – Sixth Grade, Walnut Elementary Education Center
The Kiwanis Club of Turlock recently presented Hope of America awards to students in grades 5-9 at eight local schools.
This annual award is given to young people who exemplify a capacity of leadership and self-discipline, high ethical and moral character and academic competency in general studies. These students, nominated by school personnel, are the youth of today who have demonstrated their potential to become the leaders of tomorrow.
The engraved plaques were presented in May and June by Kiwanians who recognized the nominees at school assemblies or awards banquets. The Kiwanis Club of Turlock is part of the CAL-NEV-HA Division of Kiwanis International and is currently presided over by Trina Walley.
The Kiwanis Club of Turlock offered special congratulations to Abigail Coelho who is a two-time recipient of the Hope of America Award. Coelho was nominated by her elementary school in 2008 and by her junior high in 2009.
