A fire broke out inside a residence in the 1000 block of Minaret Street on Friday afternoon. As of press time, the investigation was still ongoing, so details about the fire were limited.

No one was injured during the fire and the majority of the damage was limited to the living room, attic and the outside eaves.

The cause of the fire is unknown, though a resident said a candle left burning started the blaze.

The shelves at Turlock’s Rite Aid drugstore on Monte Vista Avenue are slowly being emptied and signs posted on the store’s popular Thrifty counter state “No More Ice-Cream” with a cartoon cone sporting a frowny face. An employee of the local drugstore on Thursday confirmed to curious customers that the store will be closing its doors, but he didn’t know exactly when.
