History of business: Imagine this. It’s late, you’ve had a bit too many margaritas, and you’re stomach is rumbling. Well,  Munch Run might be your solution.

Started in July, Munch Run is quickly becoming a go-to for quick, easy and hassle free food service. The concept behind the business is simple. They deliver food from favorite local restaurants, so the customer doesn’t have to pick it up.

Daniel Mendoza, one of the founders, said the idea actually spawned out of the concept of another business entirely. According to Mendoza, he and partner Michelle Mondragon were looking to buy a mobile coffee shop. However, after learning about the added cost of food safety permitting, the idea fell through.

“It kind of dawned on us then,” said Mendoza. “The person responsible for the permitting told us it wasn't an issue with delivering, the issue was with food prep.”

Out of the ashes of coffee, the phoenix of takeout was born.

“Everyone loves to eat,” said Mendoza.

Since its inception, Mendoza claims the business has been snowballing, with more and more hungry customers calling, looking for food to be delivered from their favorite restaurants.

“Two weeks ago we got our first call for breakfast,” said Mendoza. “It’s really exciting.”

Mendoza hopes that demand for the business will grow in the coming months and that more and more areas will ask for this unique yet appetizing service.

“We’re just trying to make things easy for customers,” he said.

Business specialty: Munch Run specializes in take out delivery from local restaurants and currently delivers to Turlock, Denair and Keyes.
