Jessica’s House will be hosting an open house for the community on Thursday in recognition of National Children’s Grief Awareness Day. Children’s Grief Awareness Day is designed to bring awareness of the needs of grieving children and the benefits they obtain through the support of others. It is nationally recognized every year on the third Thursday of November and promoted by the National Alliance for Grieving Children.

Community members hope to rename baseball field after beloved Little League coach

A committee has been appointed to look into renaming the Little League baseball field on the campus of Julien Elementary after longtime coach Paul Cooper, who passed away on May 3 (Photo contributed).
A staple in the local Little League scene who recently passed away is the subject of a community effort to rename an iconic Turlock baseball field.
