Paul Mahony has been terminated as publisher of the Turlock Journal, Manteca Bulletin, Ceres Courier and Oakdale Leader.
Mahony was relieved of his duties on Feb. 10, following an internal investigation launched immediately after an employee made a complaint. Mahony had been publisher since late 2006.
“We took the action in the interest of our employees,” said Charles Hill Morris, regional manager with Morris Multimedia.
Several Manteca Bulletin employees have filed complaints with the Manteca Police related to Mahony's actions. The Bulletin will cooperate fully with any law enforcement investigation that results from those complaints.
Given the sensitive nature of the complaints and the ongoing police investigation, the Bulletin will have no additional comment on Mahony's termination at this time.
